The Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel organizes a show of work by Pavlos.
03/22/07
The Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel (Barcelona) presents work by Pavlos, from 22 March to 22 May, one of the most representative plastic artists of the Nouveau Réalisme, a movement that arose in the ‘sixties and in which Dufrêne, Hains, Rothella and Villegré took part. Therefore, the Barcelona establishment will house an ample display of his creations, amongst which works such as ”24 shirts”, “Bar”, “Green Shirt” and “Ties” are on show.
Pavlos is a French artist of Greek origin who left his native country, taking with him the luminous heritage of the Mediterranean to his city of adoption, Paris. In his artistic production, he works with assemblage and collage techniques and reproduces all kinds of everyday objects, such as jackets, folded shirts, corsets or tyres that are sublimated with a technique that is extraordinarily meticulous. This artist constantly renovates himself and transforms the objects he portrays into unrepeatable pieces, as a result of the craftsmanship he devotes to each one of his artistic creations. In one of his latest series, presented last year in Paris, he undertook a Hommage auPop! (A tribute to Pope-Art), recreating some of the most representative works by Wesselman, Warhol and Lichtenstein.
