A little history

In 1993, the Hotusa Group makes a sharp turn in its expansion policy and takes its first steps in the management and direct operation and running of establishments, a business that would come to complement its activities as a chain of associated hotels, in addition to granting the organization the possibility of channelling the diversification of its line of activities. 

Quoting words by Hotusa’s Chairman, Amancio López-Seijas, “it meant being what we were not, without ceasing to be what we were”.

An exhaustive market survey indicated that it was the right moment for the development of hotel chains, while at the same time the creation of the new area of business meant an excellent opportunity for channelling that wide range of services that were already being supplied to other hotels towards the parent company.

The company obtained via public tender from the Regional Government, Xunta de Galicia, the concession for operation of the Holiday Resort “Ciudad de Vacaciones Monte do Gozo”(Santiago de Compostela, Corunna), thanks to an enthusiastic and hard-worked project, thus becoming the first hotel directly operated by the company.

Without doubt, the chain’s most representative establishment is the Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel *****GL, situated in Barcelona’s World Trade Centre complex and which, in four years, has positioned itself as a reference for the Barcelona top-class hotel industry.
