The Eurostars Madrid Tower Hotel 5*, the spectacular hotel located in one of the four towers on Madrid’s Paseo de la Castellana, suggests an International Book Day (23rd of April) celebration featuring a soiree with the best in Catalan cuisine, books, roses and live music in this hotel’s luxurious scenic restaurant perched 120 metres over the city. This is the second year in a row that Eurostars Hotels’ Madrid hotel is hosting this original event that combines cuisine and culture.

Guests at the “2nd Night of the Book” will be given the book Pedro Páramo ya no vive aquí (Pedro Páramo No Longer Lives Here), which earned journalist and writer Paco Nadal the 5th Eurostars Hotels Travel Story Prize, and a rose, following the Catalan tradition on the Diada de Sant Jordi (Saint George’s Day in Catalan). Plus, the food promises to be exquisite with recipes from Catalan cuisine reinvented by the kitchen team at the hotel led by Andrew Bryson. This spectacular restaurant, which is located on the 29th floor of the hotel, will be specially decorated for the occasion, the perfect backdrop for a literary soiree set to the music of a Spanish guitar.

The menu includes the kitchen team’s own versions of the traditional Xató for the appetiser, followed by Baby fava bean salad with baby octopus and Iberian acorn-fed ham as a first course, Monkfish steak with broad beans stewed with blood sausage and truffle and Surf and turf dish of fattened hen with prawns for the main course, and Catalan crème brulée with melindro biscuits and strawberries for dessert. The food will be paired with a selection of wines from the El Penedés designation of origin (Torres Waltraud and Gran Caus from Can Rafols del Caus), along with 2PR Gratavinum from the El Priorat designation of origin, Garnacha Dulce from the Castillo de Perelada designation of origin and an excellent sparkling wine, Cava Agustí Torelló i Mata Brut Nature Reserva.

The price of the event is 85 euros per guest.
