28/05/2008 For the eighth year running, the Hotusa Group will be holding the Grand Marina Photography Award, which this year has as its theme “Barcelona City Streets”. Those interested in taking part have until next 24 October to enter their photographs for the competition, the incentives for which are the over 10,000 euros in prizes, in addition to having the winning pictures used as decoration for the Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel 5* G.L.

This eighth edition of the Grand Marina Photography Award is intended as a tribute to the personal city schemes of Barcelona. The photographs entered for the competition must capture the architectural, human and social reality of the city streets: from the quiet alleys of the Gothic District to the wide avenues of the Eixample, passing through the legendary Ramblas.

The Grand Marina Photography Award has become a consolidated event amongst the photography competitions organized in the Catalonian capital, having received over 300 series of photographic entries in its latest editions. This enterprise is a demonstration of the firm commitment by Eurostars Hotels with the world of art and culture.

The conditions for entries, all to be presented on conventional photographic paper, either in colour or black-and-white, must be in triptych format (i.e. a series of three photos of identical size and form which compose one sole piece of work), the number of entries per person being unlimited. Likewise, entries, whether digital or traditional, must conform to either one of two sizes: Square (30 x 30 cms) or Rectangular-horizontal (20 x 30 cms) and be identified with the name of the participant, title of the entry, order of placement and the dates the photographs were taken, plus all contact details.

The event is open to all-comers and persons interested in entering the competition have until 19.30 hrs., Friday, 24 October, to reach the headquarters of the Hotusa Group (Princesa, 58 pral., 08003 Barcelona). The decision made by the panel of judges, which will comprise renowned professionals, will be made public during the month of November.
